Ashfall Chronicle
★★★★★ 4.6
Ashfall Chronicle is the kind of mobile RPG that respects your attention. The story follows a band of survivors crossing a scorched continent, and the writing leans into quiet, sad moments more than big heroics. We finished the first act in two sittings and wanted more.
Combat is classic turn-based, but the twist is a stamina system that forces you to rotate party members instead of leaning on one hero. It makes every encounter a small planning exercise. Progression is generous without being mindless; levelling feels earned.
If you want a story you can sink into on a long train ride, this is an easy recommendation. The only gripe is a slow start to the menus, but once you're in, it's hard to put down.
What we liked
- Strong, melancholy writing
- Thoughtful turn-based battles
- Party rotation keeps fights fresh
